Remove

1

Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).

Remove center liftgate trim.

Disconnect electrical connector from trunk lid/liftgate lamp unit (E46).

Remove nuts (1).

Press safety clip (2) and remove trunk lid/liftgate lamp unit (E46).

Install

Check seals of safety clips (2) and guides (3) for damage.

If there is a problem,

replace trunk lid/liftgate lamp unit (E46).

Insert trunk lid/liftgate lamp unit (E46).


Do not apply any pressure to the diffuser lens of the trunk lid/liftgate lamp unit (E46).
Otherwise cracks could form.

Make sure that the trunk lid/liftgate lamp unit (E46) is seated correctly.

Install nuts (1).

Connect electrical connector to trunk lid/liftgate lamp unit (E46).

10

Install center liftgate trim.
