Remove/install

Carry out commissioning of headlamp control unit (1) with vehicle diagnosis system.

If the left or right headlamp control unit (1) is replaced.

Installation: Carry out zero-position adjustment of front lamp unit.

Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2  m).

Remove air duct (2).

If the right headlamp control unit (1) is removed.

Remove battery carrier of auxiliary battery in engine compartment.

Model 907 with code E2M (Auxiliary battery for retrofitted consumers, engine compartment)
If the left headlamp control unit (1) is removed.

Remove diesel injection system control unit.

Model 907 with engine 642 or with engine 651
If the left headlamp control unit (1) is removed.

Remove electrical wiring harness (3) from body until the outer screws (4, arrow A) at the headlamp control unit (1) are accessible.

Fold down insulation mat (5) in the area of the outer lower screw (arrow A) to the side (arrow B).

Remove screws (4, arrow A) and remove headlamp control unit (1) until the electrical connectors (6) are accessible.

Disconnect electrical connectors (6) and remove headlamp control unit (1).

Installation: Ensure that seal (7) is seated correctly.

Install in the reverse order.

Check

Check exterior lighting for proper operation.
