Risk of injury when performing check and repair work in area of roll bar

Before working in the area of roll bar, pull out rear head restraints by hand.

Keep body parts out of area where roll bar extends.

Remove soft top canvas

 Soft top canvas must be completely removed.

Loosen insulation (3) on left and right from soft top tip and (2) and detach

 Carefully pull off insulation (3) to avoid tearing.

Detach insulation (3) from soft top bow at left and right rear corners (23)

Pull insulation (3) off of soft top bow (23) on left and right rear

 Carefully pull off insulation (3) to avoid tearing.

Pull plastic pin (14) out of insulation (3) on left and right

Pull pinch roller (1) with insulation (3) off of soft top tip (2)

Knock off rivet (4) on inside of soft top

Pull elastic band (5) outward

 Remove remaining rivet (4).

Knock off rivet (6) on linkage from outside

Remove tensioning belt (7)

 Remove remaining rivet (6).

Knock off rivet (8) on rear bow (12)

Remove tension cable (9) with spacer plate (21)

 Remove remaining rivet (8).

Knock off rivet (10) on each bow (12)

 Also remove spacer plate (22) on rear bow (12). Remove remaining rivets (10).

Remove tensioning strap (11) from bow (12)

Lay down tensioning strap (11) on convertible soft top linkage

Knock off rivet (17)

Remove bracket (16)

 Remove remaining rivet (17).

Knock off rivet (18)

Take off tensioning strap (11)

 Remove remaining rivet (18).

Knock off rivet (20)

Remove tensioning strap (11) with rubber tensioning strap (19)

 Remove remaining rivet (20).

Pull insulation (3) to side out of bow (12)

 Pull insulation (3) out with rear window frame (13).

Pull insulation (3) out of rear window frame (13)



Install

Insert insulation (3) into rear window frame (13)

Insert insulation (3) uniformly into bow (12)

 Cut off new insulation (3) at an angle at the front corners before completely installing.

Align insulation (3) with markings

 The white marked line must coincide with the notch in the rear window frame (13) and soft top tip (2).

Guide insulation (3) through soft top tip (2) on left and right

Push plastic pin (14) into insulation (3) on left and right

Press clamping channel (1) with insulation (3) into soft top tip (2)

Attach adhesive tape to soft top tip (2) on left and right in cross-hatched areas

Glue insulation (3) to soft top tip (2)

Attach adhesive tape on rear left and right in cross-hatched areas

Glue insulation (3) to soft top bow (23) and soft top frame (15)

 Installation: Align insulation (3) along edges of soft top frame (15) and soft top bow (23) with aid of holes

Lay tensioning strap (11) on bow (12)

Rivet tensioning strap (11) to each bow (12)
