Correct adjustment of the side flap drive (1) allows uniform motion of the two side flaps (2). Moreover, it prevents that the side flaps (2) cause noises when the Vario roof is opened. Only adjust side flap (2) not in contact with the inside of the trunk lid (3), because the side flap drive (1) switches off as soon as the side flap (2) makes contact.

Open trunk lid (3)

 With Vario roof closed.

Check adjustment of side flap drive (1).

 Side flaps (2) are folded in. Both side flaps (2) should make uniform contact with inside of trunk lid (3) under slight tension.

Adjust

Loosen jam nut (4) and turn adjustment bolt (5)

 Carefully turn adjusting nut (5) at small increments. Otherwise the side flap drive (1) can be damaged.

 Only adjust side flap (2) not making contact with trunk lid (3). Turn adjusting nut (5) until side flap (2) makes contact with inside of trunk lid (3) under slight tension.

Tighten lock nut (4).

Checking

Close trunk lid (3)

Completely open and close Vario roof

Open trunk lid (3) and check adjustment of side flap drive (1), if applicable repeat adjustment procedure.

 With Vario roof closed.
After readjusting, completely open and close Vario roof before checking.
