Loosen screws (2) and completely press back stop lugs (3).

Remove rear-end center section paneling (5).

Remove lock striker (4).

Remove roof spoiler with center brake lamp.

If liftgate (1) is adjusted in X-direction (X) and/or Y-direction (Y).

 The center brake lamp must not be removed from the roof spoiler.

Remove both pneumatic springs.

 Do not support liftgate (1) with support.
Helper required.

Adjusting in x-direction (X) and y-direction (Y)

Loosen screws (6) on left and right hinge (7).

Adjust liftgate (1) in the x-direction (X) or y-direction (Y).

Tighten released screws (6) at hinges (7).

 Helper required.

Repair paint damage on screws (6) with appropriate touch-up paint pen.



Remove roof lining lay down on seats with connected electric lines.

If liftgate (1) is adjusted in Z-direction (Z).

Remove trunk lid/liftgate control drive unit.

Adjust liftgate (1) in Z-direction (Z).

 Helper required.
Upper edge of liftgate (1) must be flush with roof. Observe dimension "M1".

Tighten released screws (8) at hinges (7).

Install

Install both pneumatic springs.

Install lock striker (4) and screw in screws to end stop.

Adjusting the transitions to the edges of the fenders and the D-pillars

Adjust transition between liftgate (1) and edges of fender and D-pillars by moving lock striker (4).

 Liftgate (1) must be flush with edges of fender and D-pillars.

Tighten screws at lock striker (4).

 Screw/bolt, lock striker for liftgate to rear center section

Completely pull out stop lugs (3).

Close liftgate (1) and open again.

 Ensure the liftgate (1) closes correctly.

Pull stop lugs (3) out two notches.
