1 | Remove center door field paneling on door lining (2) of left and right rear door | ||
2 | Disconnect electrical connector (3) from left rear power window switch (S21/3) or right rear power window switch (S21/4) | ||
3 | Unscrew bolt (4) and remove left rear power window switch (S21/3) or right rear power window switch (S21/4) from armrest (1) | ||
4 | Unclip door handle recess cover (5) and remove | ||
5.1 | Separate plastic stays (6) with suitable tool | When initially removing armrest (1). | |
5.2 | Remove bolts (7) | When repeatedly removing armrest (1) | |
6.1 | Separate plastic spot welds (8) from armrest (1) | When initially removing armrest (1). | |
Do not operate at excessive speed because the plastic becomes too hot, melts and galls the spherical milling cutter. | |||

8 | Turn door lining (2) and remove armrest (1) from door lining (2) | ||

9.1 | Drill dia. 2 mm pilot holes in mounts (arrows) for bolts (7) at rear of armrest (1). | When installing a new armrest (1). | |
Drill vertically in relation to contact surface of mounts (arrows) on door lining (2) | |||

10 | Insert armrest (1) into door lining (2) | If the armrest (1) has been removed initially, replace armrest (1) | |
11 | Lay door lining (2) with front side down on suitable subsurface. | ||
12 | Screw in bolts (7) | The third bolt from the rear (7) can be eliminated if hard to reach. | |
13 | Hold front of armrest (1) and press clamping plates (9) over pins (10) of armrest (1). | Use new clamping plates (9). Use 10 mm socket with suitable handle to press down clamping plates (9) The clamping plates (9) should make firm contact with door lining (2) | |
14.1 | Shorten pins (10) down to approx. 2 mm above clamping plates (9) with suitable side cutting pliers | When replacing new armrest (1). | |
15 | Install handle recess cover (5) | Ensure that door handle recess cover (5) is seated correctly on armrest (1). | |
16 | Insert left rear power window switch (S21/3) or right rear power window switch (S21/4) into armrest (1) and screw in bolt (4) | ||
17 | Connect electrical connector (3) for left rear power window switch (S21/3) or right rear power window switch (S21/4) | ||
18 | Install center door field paneling in door lining (2) |
