Remove cap from door handle recess and unscrew bolt (1)

Remove retaining clips (2)

Unclip armrest paneling (3) starting at rear (arrow A) and front (arrow B) to center and remove

Unclip armrest paneling (3) starting at front (arrow B), unclip and unhook at rear (arrow A) from armrest and remove

Remove bolt s (4)

Unclip door trim (5) in area of retaining clips (10) and remove upward until cable (7) is accessible

 Installation:
Always replace all retaining clips (10).
Otherwise it is not ensured that the door panel (5) is seated permanently on the front door.

 Installation: Ensure that shaft sealing strip is seated correctly.

Unhook cable (7) from inside door handle and door handle (8)

Disconnect all electrical connectors (9) of lines routed to the door paneling (5) from front door control unit

Remove door liner (5)

Remove upper impact absorber (6)

Model 447, 448

If installed.

 Installation: The upper impact absorber (6) is an eliminated part and is no longer required.

If the upper impact absorber (6) is not installed.



Document eliminated upper impact absorber (6) in Vehicle Documentation (VeDoc) and erase "VPD-Ident" 11249 or 11250.



Check installation position of grommet (11)

Grommet (11) not seated as shown.



Turn grommet (11) in direction of arrow (arrow C) so that the electrical wiring harness (12) runs behind the lower impact absorber (14) (arrow D) as shown.

Ensure that retaining rings (13) are seated correctly on lower impact absorber (14)

On retaining rings (13) not installed up to end stop



Completely press on retaining rings (13) with suitable tool.


Lower impact absorber (14) must make contact with the door module (15) without play and gaps.
Otherwise the electrical wiring harness (12) between the lower impact absorber (14) and door module (15) can slip and prevent correct seat of the lower impact absorber (14).

Install in the reverse order


