1 | Remove outside rearview mirror (2). | Do not remove outside rearview mirror from mirror base. | |
2 | Unlock door beam (1) with actuation lever and open upward | ||
Danger! | Injury hazard Gas-operated struts are under high pressure and can pinch and crush body parts during work | Only remove and install gas-operated struts in the relaxed position and when the components are secured properly. | |
3 | Loosen retainer (4) with suitable screwdriver and unhook gas pressure strut (3) from ball head of door beam (1) | When gas pressure strut (3) is removed support or secure door beam (1) to prevent it from falling down unintentionally | |
4 | Close door beam (1) | ||
5 | Unscrew bolt (5) and remove nut (6) | Installation: Nut (6) must be flush with door beam (1) | |
6 | Pull socket (7) out of door beam (1) with suitable pliers. | Installation: Grease socket (7) slightly and check for easy motion. | |
7 | Lift door beam (1) and remove upward | Installation: Position door beam (1) at an angle at top of mount (8) | |
8 | Install in the reverse order |
