Risk of injury when performing check and repair work in area of roll bar

Before working in the area of the roll bar, pull out the rear head restraints by hand.

Keep body parts out of the area where the roll bar extends.

With sidebag in rear, left and right, code 293

Remove bolt (1)



Remove lateral strut (4)

Close soft top

 Complete closing procedure when rear window is in vertical position.

Remove bolts (9)



Open soft top

 Soft top compartment lid open

Loosen seal for soft top compartment in assembly area

Loosen side wall lining in trunk and lay down to side

Remove ATA tilt sensor (B33)

With anti-theft alarm system (ATA), code 551a

Lift front inner panel (5) and remove upward.

 Installation: Ensure that spacers are seated correctly in inner wheel well.

Disconnect left rear power window motor connector (X16/2), right rear power window motor connector (X16/3)

Unclip rub strip (6) from rear fender



Remove textile adhesive tape

 Replace if necessary.

Unscrew nuts of power window (7)

Take out power window (8) through access opening

Install in the reverse order

Perform basic setting for rear side power window

Read out fault memory and erase

 Stored faults which may be caused by assembly work, test work, removed lines or a simulation, must be processed and erased in fault memories after completing the work.

Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory
