The bonding area must be free of dust and grease.
Otherwise the adhesive force of the adhesive material starts to decrease.
When damaged to a degree of 10 % it is possible to repair with primer stick. If damage is > 10 % the window frame must be coated with primer filler.
Otherwise corrosion damage may occur.
Use only primer fillers and primer sticks approved by Daimler AG:

Use only the repair kit specified in the EPC.
1 | Level residual adhesive material at window frame (1) to a height of approx. 2 mm using a suitable scraper and remove loose residual adhesive material. |
2 | Clean working area. |
3 | Clean bonding area (2) on window frame (1) with cleaner and rub dry with dry cloth. |
4 | Repair paint damage in bonding area (2) and on window frame (1) with primer stick or primer filler. |
Observe the manufacturer's specifications for the curing and processing time of the primer filler. |
5 | Apply primer on window frame (1) in areas with missing or damaged residual adhesive material. |
Allow primer to flash off at least 10 min. |
