Remove/install trim strip on front roof frame

Remove

Remove roof shell

 See owner's manual.

 Installation: Pay attention to leaktightness.

Remove side struts

 See owner's manual.

 Installation: Pay attention to leaktightness.

Pull of front trim strip (2)

 For this purpose lift front trim strip (2) in area of strip ends

 Do not damage lip (3)



Clean

Remove glue residues

 Do no use sharp-edged aids to prevent damage to paint

Clean paint surface



Install

Apply primer to inside of front trim strip (2) and surface of trim seam

 Use suitable brush. Fasten front trim strip (2)

 Observe drying time for primer

 The sealing surfaces must be free of dust and grease.

Cut cartridge tip (1)

 Dimension (A) is 3 mm, dimension (B) is 2 mm.

Apply glue bead.

 Figure A: Uniformly apply glue from edge to edge on trim seam or inside of front trim strip (2).

Since the trim seam has various thicknesses, adapt thickness of glue bead in individual cases. The glue bead should have a triangular cross section.

 The sealing surfaces must be free of dust and grease.

Align front trim strip (2) and insert

 Figure B: Hold lip (3) to side with suitable tool (arrows).Do not damage lip (3)

Press on front trim strip (2) and fasten

 Figure C: Use suitable adhesive tape to fasten front trim strip (2).

 Observe drying time for glue; the front trim strip (2) should be fastened during the drying time.

Drying time for 1-component glue:

60 - 90 minutes.

Drying time for 2-component glue:

15 - 20 minutes.

Remove fastener

 Maintain drying time

Remove extending glue residues

 Do not damage affected components. Use a suitable tool.

Clean adjacent paint surfaces

Clean adjacent plastic surfaces

Install side struts

 See owner's manual.

 Ensure leaktightness.
