Scribe separating points and cut (areas A and B).
Do not make the cuts too deep. Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.
Model 447.8 with code PS2 (AMG line) Model 448.8 with code CN1 (Exterior rocker panel) Determine separating point in area A so that there is sufficient distance to the attachment poits of the mounting rail on the longitudinal member panel.
Cut separating points according to degree of damage.

Expose spot welds on B-pillar outer section (1) and cut out (areas C to E).

Heat B-pillar outer section (1) in crosshatched areas (area F).
Only when replacing right side of vehicle.

Remove damaged B-pillar outer section (1).

Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in crosshatched areas .
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

Remove shavings and drill chips.

Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
