 The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must in the case of vehicles with damage be similarly performed on the right side of the vehicle.

1	Apply seam seal to soundproofing (2) (area A).

 Commercially available devices/tools
Squeeze gun

	If soundproofing (2) is damaged:
	
	Replace soundproofing (2).

2	Install B-pillar outer section (1), fit, and fix in place with the  side portal frame and welding fixture.

 Commercially available devices/tools
Clamping pliers (Standard)

3	B-pillar outer section (1)   (areas B, C and D).

4	B-pillar outer section (1)   (areas E and E1).

5	B-pillar outer section (1)   (areas F and G).

 Inert gas weld in intervals and allow to cool down in between.
Heat distortion is reduced as a result.

6	Remove welding device.

7	Surface-grind inert-gas plug welds (areas E and E1) and inert gas welds (areas F and G).

Angular grinder

8	Remove shavings.

 Commercially available devices/tools
Wet and dry vacuum cleaner

9	Restore and smooth surfaces (areas F and G).

 Different methods can be used to restore the surfaces.
