The following operation steps are shown on model 910.631 with code T16 (Sliding door, right) on the right side of the vehicle and must be similarly performed on vehicles with code T19 (Sliding door, left) in the case of damage to the left side of the vehicle.

Install outer section of B-pillar

Apply seam seal to soundproofing (3, 4) (areas A and B).


If soundproofing is damaged (3, 4),


Replace affected soundproofing (3, 4).

Install outer section of B-pillar

Install B-pillar outer section (1), fit, and fix in place with side portal frame and welding fixture.

Clamping pliers (Standard)

B-pillar outer section (1) (areas C, D, and F).

Remove welding device.

Surface grind inert gas plug welds (areas E, E1, G and H).

Remove shavings.

B-pillar outer section (1) (areas I and J).


Inert gas weld in intervals and allow to cool down in between.
Heat distortion is reduced as a result.

Surface grind inert gas welds (areas I and J).

Remove shavings.

Restore surfaces and smooth (areas I and J).


Different methods can be used to restore the surfaces.
