Cutting out inside section of A-pillar

Left side of vehicle

Expose spot welds in areas (A, B, G) and cut out with  spot weld milling cutter.

Expose spot welds in areas (C, D) and cut out with  spot weld milling cutter.

Mark separation line (3) with a length of a = 350 mm, at edge of A-pillar (arrow) on body.

Mark separation line (4) at edge of A-pillar (arrow) as drawn.

Mark separation line (5) along sheet metal contours (arrows) on body.

Separate A-pillar inner section (2) along separation lines (3, 4, 5) and remove.

 Cutting depth in area of separation line (3) max. 1 mm.
Otherwise the components below can be damaged.

Bend A-pillar panel (6) up slightly in areas (F, H) where spot welds have been cut out and grind down spot weld residues on inner section of A-pillar still present as well as on the bulkhead welding web (7), area (E).
