Cutting out inside section of A-pillar

Right side of vehicle

Expose spot welds in areas (A, B and C) and cut out with  spot weld milling cutter.

Expose spot welds in areas (D und E) and cut out with  spot weld milling cutter.

Mark separation line (5) with a length of a = 350 mm, at edge of A-pillar on body.

Mark separation line (6) at edge of A-pillar as shown.

Mark separation line (7) along sheet metal contours (arrows) on body.

Separate A-pillar inner section along separation lines (5, 6, 7) and remove.

 The cutting depth in the area of the separation line (5) should be max. 1 mm.
Otherwise the components below can be damaged.

Slightly bend up A-pillar panel (8) in areas (G, H) of cut out spot welds and grind off spot weld remains on A-pillar inner section still present as well as on welding stay of splash wall, area (F).
