The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be accomplished analogously on the right side in the event of damage.
1 | Install and fit sidewall paneling (1), rear sidewall paneling lower section (4), sliding door, tailgate or rear-end door, seals, and lock strikers. |
2 | Check gaps using feeler gauge and adjust. |
3 | Fix side wall paneling (1) and rear side wall paneling bottom section (4) in place. |
4 | Remove sliding door, tailgate or rear-end door, seals, and lock strikers. |

5 | Drill rivet holes on the sidewall paneling (1) at the specified punch marks with a diameter of 7.1 mm (area B). |
6 | Model 447.6/7 except code W65 (Liftgate) except code W68 (Electrically actuated liftgate) |
7 | Drill rivet holes on the sidewall paneling (1) and rear sidewall paneling lower section (4) with a diameter of 6.5 mm (area C). |
