Install side reinforcement

Install side reinforcement

The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side if damaged.

1 Install side reinforcement (1) and fit.

If the side reinforcement (1) is replaced with a longitudinal member section, it is necessary to install the side reinforcement (1) with the straightening system.

2 Fix side reinforcement (1) in place.

3 Drill 6.7 mm holes (areas A and B).

4 Remove side reinforcement (1).

5 Deburr drill holes on side paneling (1), longitudinal member (2) and front upper longitudinal member (3).

6 Apply 2-component-adhesive to the crosshatched areas.

Observe manufacturer's specifications for the curing and processing times of 2-component adhesive.

Install side reinforcement

7 Install side reinforcement (1) and fit.

If the side reinforcement (1) is replaced with a longitudinal member section, it is necessary to install the side reinforcement (1) with the straightening system.

8 Fix side reinforcement (1) in place.

9 Rivet side reinforcement (1) with blind rivets.

Use 6.514.5 blind rivets in area C and 6.4 blind rivets in area D.
