Remove/install

Download stored data for digital tachograph (DTCO) control unit (A56) using workshop card

Only when replacing digital tachograph (DTCO) control unit (A56).

After completing the repair work, hand over the downloaded data to the registered owner.

Slide extraction hooks (1) into the side openings of the digital tachograph (DTCO) control unit (A56) up to the end stop

Remove digital tachograph (DTCO) control unit (A56) using extraction hooks (1) from equipment installation frame

Installation: Remove extraction hooks (1) before sliding in the equipment installation frame. The digital tachograph (DTCO) control unit (A56) must latch into place in the equipment installation frame.

Disconnect electrical connections (2) from digital tachograph (DTCO) control unit (A56)

Install in the reverse order

Check

Perform tachograph inspection

Only after installation of a new speed sensor or a new digital tachograph (DTCO) control unit (A56).

Observe legal requirements for tachograph inspection. In the Federal Republic of Germany conduct tachograph testing as per §57b of StVZO [German vehicle licensing regulations].
