Remove/install

Commission steering column tube module (1) using vehicle diagnosis system.

When replacing the steering column tube module (1).



Remove steering wheel.

Unclip steering column from steering column tube module (1).

Align markings to each other (arrow A).

Secure clock spring contact of steering column tube module (1) against twisting using a suitable tape strip.

Detach steering column tube module (1) rearward from steering column tube until electrical connector (2) is accessible.

 Installation: If steering column tube module (1) is replaced, the transport protection (4) must be broken off.

Unclip electrical wiring harness (3) at line bracket (arrow B) from trim.

Disconnect electrical connection (2).

 The locking clip of the electrical connector (2) will be irreparably damaged as a result.

 Installation: Replace the retaining clip.

Remove steering column tube module (1).

Install in the reverse order.



Check

Perform function check on all components of steering column tube module (1).
