Removing and installing

Deflange (arrow) catalytic converter (1) - rear exhaust system (2)


 Assembly: Tighten flange connection evenly

Deflange (arrow) catalytic converter (1) - Bypass tube


 Assembly: Tighten flange connection evenly

Unscrew self-locking nut (6) which secures catalytic converter (1) in exhaust gas muffler/cooler (5)



Disconnect vacuum pipe (7) in exhaust gas flap (9)

Unscrew screws (3)


 Replace self-locking nuts (4)

Close exhaust gas flap (9) and remove to one side

Push linkage backwards (arrow)
 Assembly: Replace gaskets (8)



Check connection points

 Check flanges, coupling cones, eliminate any remains of burning and corrosion with sandpaper

Assembly in reverse order

Check connection points respect to leaktightness
