11 Downpipe clamp

 	Remove/install
1	Unscrew oxygen sensor (G3/4) from downpipe (9) and disconnect connector for oxygen sensor (G3/4x1)	 Facilitates removal and installation of the downpipes.	AR14.00-P-5303AG
2	Unscrew oxygen sensor (G3/3) from transverse exhaust pipe (6) and detach connector (G3/3x1)	 Makes it easier to detach the flange connection from transverse exhaust pipe (6) and left exhaust manifold.	AR14.00-P-5303AG
3.1	Detach the flange connection from downpipe (9) and right exhaust manifold	 Installation If bolts (2) are stiff or thread is damaged:
		Replace the rivet nuts in the exhaust manifold.	AR49.10-P-5531-01DA

3.2	Remove both downpipe clamps (11)	For engine 112.945 only
4	Disconnect the flange connection from transverse exhaust pipe (6) and downpipe (9)	 Installation If bolts (2) are stiff or thread is damaged:
		Replace the rivet nuts in the transverse exhaust pipe.	AR49.10-P-5531-01DA

5	Detach the flange connection from transverse exhaust pipe (6) and left exhaust manifold	 Installation If bolts (2) are stiff or thread is damaged:
		Replace the rivet nuts in the exhaust manifold.	AR49.10-P-5531-01DA

6	Unscrew retaining bolts (10) of transverse exhaust pipe (6) from the transmission		*BA49.10-P-1004-01A
7	Detach the flange connection from catalytic converter (5) and downpipe (9)		*BA49.10-P-1002-01A
8	Detach the flange connection from catalytic converter (5) and main muffler (7)		*BA49.10-P-1002-01A
9	Detach catalytic converter (5) from rubber mount (1) and lift out	 Loosening the two brackets makes it easier to remove the catalytic converter.
10	Detach the flange connection from main muffler (7) and rear muffler (8)		*BA49.10-P-1002-01A
11	Detach rear muffler (8) from rubber mount (1) and lift out	 Loosening the bracket makes it easier to detach the rear muffler.
12	Install in the reverse order	 Installation
		- Check all rubber mounts (1) and sealing rings (4) for damage and replace if necessary. - Use emery cloth to remove combustion and corrosion residues at connection points of exhaust pipes. - Replace all nuts (3). - Install exhaust system free of stress.
