| Remove | ||
1 | Remove heat shield over the CAT (1) | ||
2 | Unscrew nuts (2) | ||
3 | Remove bracket (3) | ||
4 | Unscrew nuts (4) | ||
5 | Remove CAT (1) and seal | ||
| Clean | ||
6 | Clean sealing surface on CAT (1) | When reusing the CAT (1). | |
7 | Clean sealing surface on cylinder head. | ||
| Install | ||
8 | Lay new seal on cylinder head | ||
9 | Attach CAT (1) with nut (4) to the cylinder head | Screw on nuts (4) evenly up to stop. | |
10 | Tighten nuts (4) | Nut, catalytic converter to cylinder head | |
11 | Lay on bracket (3) | ||
12 | Screw on nut (2) and tighten | ||
13 | Install heat shield over the CAT (1) | ||
Only install covering over engine after a leak test. | |||

Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. | Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. | |
14 | Perform engine test run and check exhaust system in the area of catalytic convertor (1) for leaktightness | ||
15 | Install covering over engine |
