| Check | ||
1 | Print out test log (form).
| Manually deenergize high-voltage on-board electrical system, form | ||
Fill out test log (form) step-by-step during the following test.
2 | Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2 m). | No-one must be located in or on the vehicle throughout the entire power disable procedure.
3 | Disconnect charger for retaining the 12 V on-board electrical system voltage. | If a 12 volt charger is connected.
4 | Unplug charging cable from vehicle socket for charging the high-voltage battery. | If the charging cable is connected.
5 | Close socket flap for vehicle socket and use the warning sign to secure it against plugs being inserted again. | Warning label
6 | Open hood. | ||
7 | Remove engine cover. | ||
| |||
8 | Unplug jumper (2), as shown in picture sequence (A, B, C), from high-voltage disconnect device (S7) and secure using padlock (3) against restart procedure. | Store padlock key (3) separately and so that it is only accessible to authorized persons.
9 | Visually check high voltage components for activity. | No high voltage components may be active. The electric refrigerant compressor and heaters may not be active.
If high voltage components are active,
| |||
cancel manual test of absence of voltage and inform the responsible market support.
10 | Check high voltage components, electrical connectors, and electric lines for damage. | If damage is present,
| |||
cancel manual test of absence of voltage and inform the responsible market support.
11 | Check measuring instrument for proper operation and damage according to the manufacturer's specifications.
| 000 588 07 19 00 Measuring instrument | ||
The proper function must be ensured before the start of inspection work through a function check in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications and a visual check for external damage.
If there is a problem, | |||
| |||
replace measuring instrument.
12 | Visually inspect the test adapter (6, 9) for any damage. | The proper function must be ensured before the start of the inspection work through a visual check for external damage.
Test adapter | |||
Test adapter | |||
If there is a problem, | |||
| |||
replace test adapter (6, 9).
13 | Unclip electric line of high-voltage plug (5) on high-voltage power distributor (F34/6) from holder.
14 | Switch on ignition. | ||
15 | Remove rear underfloor paneling.
16 | Remove nuts (7) from holder of electric line of high-voltage plug (8) on high-voltage battery then release holder.
17 | Wear personal protective equipment (arc-resistant jacket, face mask, electrical protective gloves, etc.). | Personal protective equipment must always be worn when performing the following operation steps.
18 | Disconnect high-voltage plug (8) from high-voltage battery.
| |||
19 | Connect test adapter (9) to high-voltage battery.
Test adapter | |||
20 | Manually check high-voltage on-board electrical system at high-voltage battery for absence of voltage.
| 000 588 07 19 00 Measuring instrument | ||
If a voltage of 60 V DC is measured for all voltage measurements, the vehicle is considered to be free of high voltage.
Test adapter | |||
If absence of voltage was not determined,
| |||
cancel manual test of absence of voltage and inform the responsible market support.
21 | Remove test adapter (9) and connect high-voltage plug (8).
| |||
22 | Disconnect high-voltage plug (5) from high-voltage power distributor (F34/6).
| |||
23 | Connect test adapter (6) to high-voltage power distributor (F34/6).
Test adapter | |||
24 | Manually check high-voltage on-board electrical system on high-voltage power distributor (F34/6) for absence of voltage.
