No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers only.

Empty fuel tank (9).

Remove filler neck at fuel tank (9) and seal openings using suitable protective covers.

Remove trim above rear shelf (1).

 Installation: Only install after leak test.

Unclip clip of electrical wiring harness at rear shelf (1).

 Installation: Only install after leak test.

Remove rear shelf (1) above fuel tank (9).

 Installation: Only install after leak test.

Remove screws of bracket (4) and place to one side with connected lines.

Unclip electrical wiring harness at strut tower brace (3).

Remove strut tower brace (3).

 Bolt, front suspension brace to rear suspension strut support

Release and disconnect electrical connector at fuel tank pressure sensor.

Release and disconnect electrical connectors at fuel system control unit.

Release and disconnect electrical connectors at fuel filter.

Release and disconnect electrical connector at KEYLESS-GO antenna.

Remove fuel lines (8) and seal openings with suitable stop plugs.

Remove screws (6).

Remove fuel tank (9) upwards.

 Aid of helper required.

Remove insulation mat at fuel tank (9).

Only when removing fuel tank (9).

Remove fuel filter.

Only when replacing fuel tank (9).

Remove fuel pump.

Install in the reverse order.

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Perform engine test run and check fuel system for proper operation and leak tightness.

Install trim above rear shelf (1).

Clip in clip of electrical wiring harness into rear shelf (1).

Install rear shelf (1) above fuel tank (9).
