Risk of explosion caused by ignition of flammable products, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling fuel vapors or swallowing fuel as well as risk of injury to skin and eyes exposed to fuel.

No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.
Only pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

Drain fuel tank.

 Pay attention to fuel quantity.

Remove trunk blind

Remove trim panel of fuel tank as well as right and left side trim panel for trunk

Remove fuel tank partition wall (80/1)

 Check insulation mat (80/4); replace if necessary.



Unplug socket for fuel gage sensor (B4) and pressure sensor

Detach fuel hose on the suction side (90/12), fuel return hose (90/11) and vent line (92)

 Collect remaining fuel, seal connections.



Pull off vent hose (82/3)

 Replace hose clamp.

Take out fuel tank (80)

 Check seal boot (75/4); replace if necessary.

Remove fuel strainer (26)

Clean and check whether it can be re-used.



 The splash bowl in the fuel tank is secured against turning with 2 pins. It is attached together with the fuel strainer (26).

Replace O-ring (26/1)

Oil to facilitate installation.

Install in the reverse order

Dispose of fuel tank

 When replacing fuel tank.
