Pushing off

1 Undo self-locking nut of tie rod joint (10a).

2 Mount thrust piece (045).

3 Pry off tie rod joint (10a) using puller (044).

Do not damage the rubber boot, otherwise lubricant will be discharged from the tie rod joint (10a). This results in increased wear.

4 Remove puller (044) and thrust piece (045).

Attaching

5 Clean tapered connection.

There must not be any grease or oil on the cone or thread, otherwise the tie rod joint (10a) could work loose.

6 Replace self-locking nut and tighten. If necessary, counterhold ball head using an Allen wrench.
