Risk of injury to skin or eyes caused by hydraulic fluid spraying out under high pressure. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing hydraulic fluid.

Depressurize the hydraulic system completely before starting any work on the system. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.

Remove expansion reservoir

Remove poly-V-belt

Detach hose (4) from the power steering pump

Detach high-pressure expansion hose (1) from the power steering pump

 Seal openings using sealing plugs.

 Installation: Install new O-ring.



Separate electrical connector on power steering pump pressure regulator valve (Y10/1)

Unscrew bolts (2) of power steering pump to timing case cover



Separate cable strap

Unscrew bolt (3) on bracket of power steering pump

 Installation: The bracket is to be modified when the power steering pump is replaced.



Remove power steering pump

Install in the reverse order



Checking

Check the steering system for leaks when the engine is running.

 Carry out visual inspection.
