Remove/install

Remove airbag from steering wheel (2)

Remove bolts (3)

 Bolt, mounting plate to steering wheel

Remove mounting plate (1.2) from contact plate (1.1)

Disconnect electrical connector (6)

Raise contact plate (1.1) in the steering wheel (2) far enough until the electrical connections (4) are accessible

 Installation:
Check that electrical wiring harnesses (5) are routed correctly.
Otherwise the electrical wiring harnesses (5) could be trapped and cause malfunctions.

 The number of electrical connections (4) varies depending on the vehicle equipment.

Detach electrical connections (4) and remove contact plate (1.1) from steering wheel (2)

Install in the reverse order



Perform function test of horns and buttons on steering wheel (2)

9

Perform function test of vibration motor on steering wheel using diagnostic system
