Removing
The upper steering shaft (70g) must not be pulled out completely. At least 15 to 20 mm of the upper steering shaft (70g) must be remain in the jacket tube (71).
1.1 With functional fore/aft adjustment motor:
Make electrical connection between fore/aft adjustment motor electrical connector (M20x1) and battery by connecting green line of fore/aft adjustment motor electrical connector (M20x1) to positive terminal and black line of fore/aft adjustment motor electrical connector (M20x1) to negative terminal of battery. Reverse the terminals to change the rotation direction of the motor.
P46.15-2141-01
1.2 With non-functional fore/aft adjustment motor:
Drive upper steering shaft (70g) into jacket tube (71) using suitable aluminum bolt (077).
P46.15-2178-10
2 Remove nut (62a) from link rod (62).
3 Drive out upper steering shaft (70g) using suitable aluminum bolt (076) until link rod (62) is pushed out of bracket (70h) on jacket tube (71).
P46.15-2177-11
4 Detach fore/aft adjustment motor (M20m1) from jacket tube (71) by removing bolts (1, 2, 3, 4).
Install
5 Attach fore/aft adjustment motor (M20m1) with link rod (62) to jacket tube (71).
The arch (arrow) of the link rod (62) must point away from the jacket tube (71).
6 Tighten bolts (1, 2, 3, 4) of fore/aft adjustment motor (M20m1) .
P46.15-2169-01
7 Drive in upper steering shaft (70g) using suitable sleeve (077) until link rod (62) is fully inserted into bracket (70h) of jacket tube (71).
8 Fit and tighten new self-locking nut (62a) .
P46.15-2168-02
9.1 When installing new fore/aft adjustment motor (M20m1):
Adjust dimension (x) between jacket tube (71) and bracket (70h) at nut (62b). To do this, make electrical connection if necessary, see step 1.1.
