| Remove/install | ||
1 | Place front wheels in straight-ahead position | ||
2 | Disconnect battery ground line | ||
3 | Remove screws of lower instrument cluster trim (1) | ||
4 | Remove lower instrument cluster trim (1) | ||
5 | Unscrew screw as far as end stop using socket wrench socket (2) | Bolt, steering wheel to steering shaft | |
6 | Disconnect connector coupling on driver's airbag squib (R12/3) | | |
Installation: Ensure that the electrical connector engages. | |||
7 | Detach steering wheel from steering column | Repair work on the steering wheel (1) and airbag is not permitted and, for this reason, generally replace the steering wheel (1). | |
Installation: Insert steering wheel (1) so that the locking pins line up with the supports of the clock spring contact (arrows). | |||
8 | Install in the reverse order |
