Turn steering wheel (1) to center position

Front wheels in straight-ahead position.

Remove driver airbag on the steering wheel

Installation: Replace bolt (2).

Bolt, steering wheel to steering shaft

Unlock catch tabs (3) and disconnect electrical connection (4)


Do not damage catch tabs (3)!
Otherwise, the electrical connection (4) will no longer lock.

Installation: Ensure that the electrical connection (4) engages properly.

Remove steering wheel (1)

Installation: Ensure correct assignment of the markings (arrows) on the steering wheel and on the steering shaft.

Install in the reverse order

Check

Conduct a road test

Perform operation steps 7 to 9 in this case.

Check turn signal cancellation

When the steering wheel is displaced by more than 1 tooth, correct cancellation of the turn signal is no longer guaranteed.

Check driver airbag indicator lamp

On full steering angle in both directions, the SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) indicator lamp must not light up.

Check position of the steering wheel

If the steering wheel is not straight, displace it by max. 1 tooth.
