Remove bolt (2).

 Screw, steering shaft to steering shaft bearing

Remove steering shaft (1) from universal joint (3).

Raise vehicle.

Remove engine compartment lining.

If installed.

Remove screw (9).

 Screw, lower steering shaft to steering gear

Remove universal joint (7) from steering gear.

 Installation:
Fasten universal joint (7) correctly on steering gear. The groove (arrow) on the shaft of the steering gear must align with the bore in the universal joint (7).
Otherwise the screw (9) cannot be screwed in correctly.

 Installation:
The shown direction of installation of the screw (9) must be observed.
Otherwise malfunctions and damage may occur due to an incorrectly fastened universal joint (7).

Remove steering shaft (1).

Install in the reverse order.
