Remove/install

Remove upper engine cover (1).



Remove air filter housing (3).

Remove engine air intake duct downstream of air filter (2).

Remove vacuum line (6) from vacuum pump (10).

Release and disconnect electrical connectors (12).

Detach fuel system low-pressure line from engine and place to one side.

Remove the liquid-cooled charge air cooler.

Remove screw (8) of coolant pipe (9).

 Bolt, coolant line to crankcase

Remove screws (11) from holder of the coolant hose to the thermostat housing.

Remove bolts_(7).

 Installation: Replace the bolts (7).

 Bolt, vacuum pump to cylinder head

Remove vacuum pump (10).

 Installation:
Carefully insert vacuum pump (10).
Otherwise, the seal will slip out of place or be damaged.

 Installation: The drive plate of the vacuum pump (10) must line up with the support on the camshaft.
Replace the seal of the vacuum pump (10).

Install in the reverse order.
