Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Detach lower engine compartment paneling

If installed.

 Installation: Attach bottom engine compartment lining after leak test.

Remove screw/bolts (2)

 Bolt, vacuum pump to crankcase

Pull vacuum pump (1) out of crankcase

Remove vacuum pump (1)

 Installation:
Check vacuum line (3) is correctly seated.
Otherwise, the service brake is not fully operational.

 To do so, remove vacuum line (3) from vacuum pump (1).

 Installation: Clean sealing surfaces and replace seal (4).

Install in the reverse order



Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
