Remove/install pressure reservoir for Sensotronic Brake Control (SBC) hydraulic unit

Risk of injury caused by body parts being jammed or crushed. Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by brake fluid spraying out at high pressure when working on the SBC brake system

Deactivate SBC brake system using STAR DIAGNOSIS.

Deactivate SBC brake system using STAR DIAGNOSIS.

 The following steps should be run through in STAR DIAGNOSIS:

Select menu item "SBC-Sensotronic Brake Control"/"Deactivate 'SBC' system".

Then process all the individual steps from top to bottom.



Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory

Remove SBC hydraulic unit (A7/3)

Risk of injury caused by drilling gas-filled assemblies or components (noncombustible gases)

Wear safety glasses and a face mask.

Detach pressure reservoir (1) from SBC hydraulic unit (A7/3)

  Clean the area around the separation point thoroughly before opening the SBC system. Even minute particles of dirt, introduced into the hydraulic components, can result in malfunctions and a total failure of the SBC system.

 To prevent damage, collect escaping brake fluid using a lint-free and absorbent rag.

 Counterhold the SBC hydraulic unit (A7/3) by hand.

 Do not recut the thread in the pressure reservoir and SBC hydraulic unit (A7/3).

 Installation: Apply brake fluid to the O-ring of the pressure reservoir (1).



 When performing the bleeding operation, it is essential to observe the instructions in the document "Bleeding brake system using STAR DIAGNOSIS".
