Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

Raise vehicle using the vehicle lift and remove underfloor paneling

Unclip brake lines (1) from the bracket (2)

 In order to prevent the brake lines (1) being permanently deformed when the hydraulic unit (9) is subsequently lowered.

Unclip brake line (3) from the bracket (4)

Loosen nuts (5), unscrew bolts (6) and remove bracket (7)

 Installation: Move guide pin (8) on the hydraulic unit (9) into the bracket (7).



Clean hydraulic unit (9) and ESP control unit (N47-5)

Clean hydraulic unit (9) and ESP control unit (N47-5) carefully in order to avoid damage due to contamination when separating the components.

Unlock retainer of electrical connector (10) and disconnect electrical connector (10) on ESP control unit (N47-5)

Pull ESP control unit (N47-5) and hydraulic unit (9) downwards carefully until the bolts (11) are accessible

Carefully unscrew bolts (11) and remove ESP control unit (N47-5) from the hydraulic unit (9)

 It is essential to pay attention to cleanliness. No dirt may enter the ESP control unit (N47-5) and the hydraulic unit (9), otherwise its function may be impaired.

 Installation: Clean sealing surfaces on the ESP control unit (N47-5) and on the hydraulic unit (9). Check gasket, replace if necessary.



Install in the reverse order

Flash the ESP control unit (N47-5)

When replacing the ESP control unit

(N47-5).
