Removal/installation

Danger!

Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury caused by brake fluid coming into contact with skin and eyes.

Pour brake fluid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid.

Disconnect ground lead from battery

Remove fresh air inlet

Remove windshield cleaning water tank and disconnect hoses

Pull off cover on plug connector (4) and disconnect plug (4) from ABS hydraulic unit (1)

Check plug and cable for dirt and oxidization.

Disconnect ground cable (5) from ABS hydraulic unit (1)

Detach pressure lines from ABS hydraulic unit (1)

 Before undoing the lines, protect any areas which might be affected by escaping brake fluid.

To facilitate reinstallation, take care not to alter the shape of the disconnected lines.

 The screw joints on the hydraulic unit must be sealed with plugs.



Detach hydraulic unit (1) from its bracket on the bodywork

 Always put down the hydraulic unit in its installed position.

Check pressure lines, drain cocks etc. and all components affected by the preceding work procedures for leakage

Check the rubber bearings for damage and replace if necessary.

Install in the reverse sequence
