Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove/install

Remove each fender liner from fender

The left front rpm sensor electrical connection (X62/26) or right front rpm sensor electrical connection (X62/27) must be accessible.

Detach left front rpm sensor electrical connection (X62/26) or right front rpm sensor electrical connection (X62/27)

To do so, unclip left front rpm sensor electrical connection (X62/26) or right front rpm sensor electrical connection (X62/27).

Installation: Check retaining clip, inspect and, if necessary, replace.

Remove each bolt (1)

Bolt, rpm sensor to steering knuckle

Remove left front rpm sensor (L6/1) or right front rpm sensor (L6/2) from steering knuckle

Installation: Apply light coating of grease to left front rpm sensor (L6/1) or right front rpm sensor (L6/2).

Long-life grease

Remove left front rpm sensor (L6/1) or right front rpm sensor (L6/2).

To do so, unclip electrical line from left front rpm sensor (L6/1) or right front rpm sensor (L6/2) from brackets (2, 3).

Installation: Ensure bulb is correctly installed.

Check

Check electrical line for breakage or chafe marks

Depending on findings

Replace left front rpm sensor (L6/1) or right front rpm sensor (L6/2).

Install in the reverse order
