

Loosen and move heat shields (105d, 105e) or remove them

Depending on accessibility

Unhook brake cable (85) from cable slack adjuster (91).

 To do this, pre-tension automatic cable slack adjuster (91):



Preload automatic slack adjuster.

 Installation: To attach brake cable (85): 

Pre-tension automatic cable slack adjuster (91) again.

 Installation: After attaching brake cable (85): 

Relieve load on automatic slack adjuster.

Remove left cover below instrument panel

Remove side paneling in left front footwell

Detach front cover (76) of pedal assembly (71)

Unlock and disconnect electrical connector on parking brake indicator switch (S12)

Remove bolt (72) and take off pedal assembly (71).



Remove cover (77) of pedal assembly (71).

Unhook brake cable (85) from tensioning shackle (85a).

 Installation: Pay attention to the correct position of the rubber ring (85b) in the tensioning shackle (85a).

Unclip brake cable (85) from pedal assembly (71)



Detach unlocking cable (79) from tensioning shackle (79a)

Unclip unlocking cable (79) from pedal assembly (71) with tool for unlocking cable



Tool for releasing parking brake control cable

Install in the reverse order



Checking

Check pedal travel at parking brake pedal (75); adjust parking brake if necessary
