| Remove/install | ||
1 | Loosen the wheel nuts | By using 32 mm wheel spanner. | |
Installation: Test drive the vehicle. | |||
2 | Jack up the wheels using a proper jacking machine and support the axle using tripod stand | Installation: Adjust lining to drum clearance as per procedure. | |
3 | Remove the wheel and brake drum (1) | ||
4 | Remove front wheel hub from LHS and RHS | ||
5 | Remove dust shields (2) | Installation: Check for proper fitment of all the components. | |
Rotate slack adjuster to 60° by hand and release the slack adjuster to ensure proper shoe return and seating of all components. | |||
6 | Remove front side abutment end spring (3) using a spring puller | ||
7 | Remove stiffener plate (4) from the abutment side by loosening the Allen screws (5) | stiffener plate | |
8 | Remove another abutment end spring using spring puller | Installation: Fit abutment springs at back side. | |
9 | Remove shoe (6) from torque plate (7) along with cam end spring and roller | ||
10 | Remove cam end spring (8) from the shoe (6) | ||
11 | Remove split pin (9) from the shoe (6) and detach the roller (10) from the shoe along with plate (Roller hold) | ||
12 | Remove fulcrum pins (11) (2 No’s) from the torque plate (7) abutment end | Installation: Apply servo Gem HTXX or CASTROL AP 02 grease on fulcrum and insert the fulcrum pin in the abutment bush. | |
13 | Remove circlip (12) from the 'S' Cam shaft (16) using a circlip plier | Check axial play of the cam shaft (Axial play Service limit - 1.3 mm). | |
Check radial play of the cam shaft (Radial play Service limit - 1 mm). | |||
Installation: Check for the axial play of cam shaft (Axial play working limit - 0.3mm to 0.8mm). | |||
Check for the radial play of cam shaft (Radial play working limit within - 0.76 mm). | |||

15 | Remove slack adjuster (14) | ||
16 | Remove sleeve delrin (15) | ||
17 | Remove 'S' Cam shaft (16) from torque plate (7) | ||
18 | Remove oil seal (17) from torque plate (7) | ||
19 | Remove chamber bracket (18) from torque plate (7) | By using 24 mm ring spanner. | |
Installation: By using 24 mm hexagonal socket and torque wrench. | |||

20 | Remove cam end bush from the torque plate (7) using a mandrel | ||
21 | Remove abutment bushes from the torque plate (7) using a mandrel | ||
22 | Remove grease nipple (19) and relief valve from the chamber bracket (18) | ||
23 | Remove oil seal (17) from the chamber bracket (18) | ||
24 | Remove bush from chamber bracket (18) using mandrel | ||
25 | Install in the reverse order |
