Remove/install

Danger!

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove propeller shaft

Mark flexible coupling (12) relative to flange (arrows) and detach

 Check flex disk (12) for damage and replace if necessary.

 Self-locking nut, flexible coupling to transmission or front section of driveshaft

Loosen fitted sleeves on flexible couplings (12).

If the fitted sleeves are jammed: 

Fabricate drift for loosening fitting sleeves in flexible coupling (12).

Detach front propeller shaft from rear propeller shaft at the slide connection

Installation: Coat splined profile with Molykote grease.



Long-life grease (NLGI grade 2)

 Installation: Assemble the driveshaft.

Checking

Check centering sleeve (10) in front and rear propeller shafts

 If the lip in the centering sleeve (10) is worn or damaged the centering sleeve (10) can be replaced individually:

Remove centering sleeve.

Press in centering sleeve.

Fill cavities of both centering sleeves (10) with grease


