| Using protective jaw pads, clamp rear axle shaft into vise.

| Remove outer joint (37b).
|
|
| Secure the outer joint (37b) to prevent it from falling down.
This prevents damage.

| To do this, position open end wrench as shown, and pound out outer joint (37b) using several hammer blows.

Pressing on

| Using protective jaw pads, clamp rear axle shaft into vise.
|

| Press outer joint (37b) onto rear axle shaft until retaining ring (37p) is heard and felt to engage in joint hub.
