Pressing inside CV joint off and onto rear axle shaft

Spread circlip (4) at the hooks (arrows) with circlip pliers and simultaneously press the ball star (1) off the rear axle shaft (2).

 Secure the constant velocity joint (5) to prevent it from falling down.
This prevents damage.

Insert new retaining ring (4) into inner race (1).

Fit the constant velocity joint (5) straight in the rear axle shaft (2) so that the splines of the ball star (1) already engage.

 If necessary, spread retaining ring (4) slightly apart using retaining ring pliers.

Press constant velocity joint (5) with ball star (1) onto rear axle shaft (2) until retaining ring (4) engages in groove (6).

 Press on the constant velocity joint (5) carefully.
This prevents damage.

Check the constant velocity joint (5) for correct seating.
