Remove/Install

Detach rear wheel

Unscrew nut from bar link (2) on axle tube (3) and remove bolt (4) with lock washer (5)

 Support the axle tube (3), do not damage boot (7) of rear axle shaft in the process.

 Installation: Only tighten nut when vehicle is unladen (approx. 75 kg weight on the driver seat and full tank or approx. 20 kg weight in front passenger area).



Unscrew bolt (6) of rear axle shaft (1)

 Installation: When tightening the bolt (6) the vehicle must not be on its drive wheels otherwise the wheel bearing is not braced in accordance with the specifications.

 Installation: Replace bolt (6).



Press axle tube (3) to one side

 Do not press axle tube (3) too far to one side otherwise the dampers will be damaged

Pull rear axle shaft (1) out of the wheel hub guide upwards out of the wheel area

 Do not pull the rear axle shaft (1) apart, otherwise the balls will fall out of the joint and the rear axle shaft (1) must be replaced.

 Do not compress the outer boot (7) on the rear axle shaft (1) otherwise the grease will be forced out.

 Installation: The short addendum gears on the wheel bearing joint of the rear axle shaft (1) must be pushed into the wheel bearing completely.

Carefully lever rear axle shaft (1) out of the gearing (9)

 Do not damage shaft seal.

Collect any transmission oil which flows out and seal opening in transmission
