Measure basic dimension at differential.

A Measure axle housing internal dimension

 Insert adjustment device (02) into rear axle housing and measure gap using feeler gauge (a).

Determine and note housing internal dimension.

 The internal dimension is calculated by adding together the special tool dimension and the measured gap.
Example:
Special tool: 163.8 mm
+
Gap measured with feeler gauge: 1.1 mm
=
Housing internal dimension: 164.9 mm

B Measure differential

Position differential with one 5 mm thick shim each at the top and bottom on a level base and measure the total height (arrow).

Example:

Differential measured with shims: 164.1 mm

Differential without shims: 154.1 mm
