Secure vehicle on vehicle lift.

Remove left and right rear axle spring.

Transfer the pneumatic pressure of the air suspension bellows into the central reservoir using the diagnostic system.

Otherwise the air suspension bellows may suffer initial damage and malfunction at a later stage.

 Select menu item "Actuations" in active suspension and damping system control unit.

Remove

Attach special tools as shown to rear axle carrier (2) and remove elastomer bearing (1).


Make sure that the special tools are not attached at an angle.
Otherwise, rear axle carrier (2), elastomer bearing (1), and the special tools may be damaged.

Clean

Clean bearing bushing of elastomer bearing (1) in rear axle carrier (2) using a suitable medium.



Install

Align elastomer bearing (1) so that the ball valve (3) points towards the bore (4) and the arrows (5) point in the direction of travel.

Attach special tools as shown to rear axle carrier (2) and install elastomer bearing (1).


The special tools must be positioned such that ball valve (3) remains free as shown.
Otherwise the elastomer bearing (1) will be damaged.
