	Remove
1	Remove left or right front axle shaft (1).		AR33.30-P-0620MFC
2	Clamp front axle shaft (1) in vise.	 Use soft vise jaws.
3	Remove clamps (9 a, 9 b) using a suitable tool.
4	Cut open boot (9) and remove from front axle shaft (1).
5	Mark ball joint (10) relative to front axle shaft (1).	 Before removal of the ball joint (10), mark all parts in relation to each another. Otherwise, if they are assigned differently during installation noise will be generated along with increased wear.
6	Release vise and place ball joint (10) onto protective jaws of the vise.
7	Use drift (3) to drive front axle shaft (1) out of ball joint (10).	 To avoid any injuries and damage, make sure that the front axle shaft (1) does not fall down.

8	Remove retaining ring (1 b) from front axle shaft (1).
9	Clamp front axle shaft (1) in vise.	 Use soft vise jaws.
10	Remove clamps (2, 4 b) using a suitable tool.
11	Cut open boot (4a) and remove from front axle shaft (1).
12	Remove ball joint (8) on constant velocity joint hub (8 a) using a suitable tool from the front axle shaft (1).
13	Remove retaining ring (1a) from front axle shaft (1).
	Clean
14	Clean ball joint (8) and front axle shaft (1).	Assembly cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
		If the ball joint (8) is soiled,
		
		mark ball joint (8), constant velocity joint hub (8a) and cage (8b) relative to each other and disassemble.
15	Clean ball joint (10).	Assembly cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
		If the ball joint (10) is soiled,
		
		mark ball joint (10), constant velocity joint hub (10a) and cage (10b) relative to each other and disassemble.
	Install
16	Assemble ball joint (8).	If ball joint (8) was disassembled for cleaning.
		 Observe markings.
17	Slide clamp (2) onto front axle shaft (1).
18	Push boot (4a) with clamp (4b) onto front axle shaft (1).	 Replace boot (4a).
19	Install retaining ring (1a).	 Replace retaining ring (1a).
20	Fill ball joint (8) half-full with grease.	 Only use grease from the repair kit.

21	Slide ball joint (8) onto front axle shaft (1) up to end stop.	 Observe markings.
22	Fill ball joint (8) with remaining grease.	 Only use grease from the repair kit.

23	Slide boot (4a) with clamp (4b) onto ball joint (8).
24	Position raised bead of boot (4a) into radial groove of ball joint (8).
25	Fasten clamp (4 b) using pliers for click clamps.	 Dimension "X" must be  1.5 mm. Otherwise, leaks may occur on the boot (4 a).

26	Align boot (4a) with front axle shaft (1).
27	Position the raised bead of the boot (4a) in the radial groove of the front axle shaft (1).
28	Ventilate ball joint (8) by slightly lifting the raised bead.	 Do not damage raised bead and radial groove. Otherwise leaks will occur at the ball joint (8).
29	Fasten clamp (2) with pliers for click clamps.	 Dimension "X" must be  1.5 mm. Otherwise, leaks may occur on the boot (4 a).

30	Assemble ball joint (10).	If ball joint (10) was disassembled for cleaning.
		 Observe markings.
31	Slide clamp (9a) onto front axle shaft (1).
32	Push boot (9) with clamp (9b) onto front axle shaft (1).	 Replace boot(9).
33	Install retaining ring (1b).	 Replace retaining ring (1b).
34	Fill ball joint (10) up to upper edge of constant velocity joint hub (10a) with grease.	 Only use grease from the repair kit.

35	Slide ball joint (10) onto front axle shaft (1) up to end stop.
36	Fill boot (9) and ball joint (10) with remaining grease.	 Only use grease from the repair kit.

37	Slide boot (9) with clamp (9b) onto ball joint (10).
38	Position raised bead of boot (9) into center groove of front axle shaft (1) and groove on ball joint (10).
39	Fasten clamp (9 b) using pliers for click clamps.	 Dimension "X" must be  1.5 mm. Otherwise, leaks may occur on the boot (9).
