Remove front wheel hub

Remove splash shield (1)

 Installation: Clean splash shield (1) supporting surface.

In event of severe corrosion or deformation noise may be generated through contact with rotating parts. If this is the case, the splash shield (1) must be renewed.

Unscrew nut (2)

 Installation: Before fitting the nut (2), support the transverse control arm (3) and the rear of the vehicle using a transmission jack.

Counterhold bolts on flange ball joint (4) using a fork wrench or box wrench.

Replace nut (2).

Do not use an impact wrench.



Pry flange ball joint (4) off transverse control arm (3) using a puller (5)

 Push transverse control arm (3) on front axle down only as far as required, as otherwise the rubber bushings in the transverse control arm (3) may be damaged.

 Puller

Unscrew nuts (6) and remove flange ball joint (4)

 Push transverse control arm (3) on front axle down only as far as required, as otherwise the rubber bushings in the transverse control arm (3) may be damaged.

 Installation: Fit new nuts (6) and bolts.

Do not use an impact wrench.


