 Use the following special tools:
 Extraction and insertion tool (01) (222 589 03 43 00)
 Use plate (07) (202 589 04 43 07) for pressing out.
 Use sleeve (03) (221 589 00 43 01) from  extraction and insertion tool set (221 589 00 43 00) for inserting.

Press out

1	Place suitable shims (08) onto press.

2	 Place plate (07) with chamfered side facing downwards onto supports (08).

3	Place strut rod (1a) with chamfered side facing upwards onto  plate (07).

4	 Place extraction and insertion tool (01) onto elastomer bearing (1b) of strut rod (1a).

5	Pre-tension press and align strut rod (1a),  plate (07) and  extraction and insertion tool (01) with each other.

6	Press out elastomer bearing (1b).

Press in

7	 Place sleeve (03) on press.

8	Place strut rod (1a) on  sleeve (03) with chamfered side facing upward.

 The cutout of the  sleeve (03) must face in the direction of the bar (arrow N) of the strut rod (1a).

9	Position new elastomer bearing (1b) with crush ring (1c) on strut rod (1a).

 The marking (arrow M) on the elastomer bearing (1b) must line up with the recess (2) on the ball head (3).

 Different elastomer bearing variants are used for a caster change.
Elastomer bearing (1b) for positive caster change: +3 mm = +27' (E).
Elastomer bearing (1b) for negative caster change: -3 mm = -27' (F).

10	 Place extraction and insertion tool (01) on elastomer bearing (1b).

11	Pre-tension press and align strut rod (1a),  sleeve (03), elastomer bearing (1b) with crush ring (1c) and  extraction and insertion tool (01) with each other.

12	Press in elastomer bearing (1b) far enough until the bearing core (4) of the elastomer bearing (1b) makes contact with the  sleeve (03).

13	Release press and remove crush ring (1c).

14	Turn over strut rod (1a) and place on  sleeve (03).

15	 Place extraction and insertion tool (01) on elastomer bearing (1b).

16	Press elastomer bearing (1b) into center in strut rod (1a).
